Healthcare. Service lines: Modernise

Online prescriptions platform

A live web application for doctor-authorised prescription delivery, running on an ageing framework that was getting harder to support.

  • Moved the application onto a modern, supported platform incrementally, while the production system kept running
  • Extended the web application and its APIs alongside the in-house team
  • Built the backend for a new mobile app, with secure queue-based messaging
  • Led the cross-platform mobile app, with clean architecture, test-driven development and CI/CD

The platform moved to a supported stack without a big-bang cut-over, and the mobile app went live on the App Store and Google Play.

Self-serve automation suite

Customers wanted to move data between the product and their own systems without waiting for the development team.

  • Built a Zapier-style automation suite inside the product
  • Outbound automations that send data to any customer-supplied URL
  • A public API so customers' systems can push data in
  • Self-serve set-up with logs of every sync, so customers can see what happened
  • Multi-tenant throughout, with each customer's automations and logs kept separate

Customers set up and check their own data syncs, instead of asking the development team each time.

Who you'll work with

Tech Pixels is led by a software architect with 14 years of experience building, maintaining and modernising production systems, from web apps and APIs to data platforms, cloud architecture and AI workflows.

Since 2013 our lead has worked as senior developer and technical lead on platforms in healthcare, agriculture, travel, children's apps and analytics, often owning the architecture end to end, and has built a CMS from scratch. Every engagement is led personally, and every change is reviewed before it reaches your repository.
